"During the Dansih Jazzfestival time, under the bright Danish summer sky, right in the heart of Copenhagen, a little corner with tango and wine that emotionally connects to the dark tango nights of Buenos Aires...Just like at home. Tango of international class powered by the bests Malbec wines of the planet. Tango y Vinos Vinhandel og vinimport fra Argentina proudly presents several events with this line up.
Every night, after midnight, you can now enjoy the Argentinean/Italian jazz-tango trio NUEVOTRIOPORTEÑO performing live, with Paolo Russo on bandoneon, Diego Sandullo on guitar and Ricardo Canepa on bass"
The Nuevotrioporteño was born in Buenos Aires in March 2008. The trio is formed by Paolo Russo on bandoneón (ITA/DK), Diego Sandullo on guitar (ARG) and Ricardo Canepa on contrabass (ARG). The repertoire is made of original tunes written by the members of the band and the style is oriented towards contemporary tango nuevo mixed with elements of jazz and South American rhythms (candombe, milonga), as well as Italian and Argentinean folk. The trio has already performed several concerts in Argentina, Uruguay and Denmark and has released the first CD with all original tracks in November 2008 under the new Danish Label Bro Recordings. From June 25 to July 12 2009, the Nuevotrioporteño will be on tour in Denmark, presenting the music from the new album.
This project represents a unique opportunity to challenge the ancient tradition of instrumental tango music, with the use of the bandoneon in a new modern key. Accompanied by Argentinean young and promising talents, the new, fresh and un-orthodox approach to the most characteristic instrument for the music from Rio De La Plata, benefits of the authentic touch coming from the respectful traditional styles, and at the same time pushes the research towards new directions, embracing improvisation, exploring new creative territories. Their music can't be defined as pure tango, but perhaps as an interesting mix of different musical backgrounds, with a strong latin character.
Closing this line up is Daniel Nacach (ARG), wine tender and malbec lover to hit you with his best juices from Uco Valley, Lujan de Cuyo, Maipu, and many other regions from home, beautifull Argentina.
